Ferroloy Earns Third Consecutive AFS Metalcasting Safe Year Award

2026 AFS Metalcasting Safe Year Award plaque presented to Ferroloy, Inc., Wichita, Kansas, for a third consecutive year

WICHITA, KS – October 28, 2026 – For the third consecutive year, Ferroloy, Inc. has received the American Foundry Society (AFS) Metalcasting Safe Year Award. The 2026 award recognizes the Wichita iron foundry for 365 consecutive days without a lost-time injury or illness, from May 25, 2025, to May 24, 2026.

Three Years Running

AFS presents the Metalcasting Safe Year Award to foundries that complete 365 or more consecutive days without a lost-time injury or illness. Ferroloy first earned the award in 2024 and received it again in 2025. The 2026 award marks the third year in a row, in an operation where daily work includes melting and pouring iron, making molds, and cleaning and machining castings.

“Three consecutive years without a lost-time incident isn’t just a safety stat—it’s a reflection of our culture and our people,” said Mark Soucie, President and Owner of Ferroloy, Inc. “As we advance toward our goal of full SHARP certification, I couldn’t be prouder of the standard our team sets every day to make Ferroloy a safe, sustainable, and reliable place to work.”

Working Toward OSHA SHARP

In April 2026, Ferroloy announced it is working toward OSHA SHARP designation. SHARP, OSHA’s Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program, recognizes small employers with exemplary safety and health management systems. Ferroloy is pursuing it with the Kansas Department of Labor’s on-site consultation services. The third Safe Year Award comes as that work continues.
