Ferroloy, Inc. Sets Sights on Prestigious OSHA SHARP Safety Certification

Ferroloy Foundry Wichita KS

WICHITA, KS – April 30, 2026 – Ferroloy, Inc., a leading ISO 9001 certified ductile and gray iron foundry, is proud to announce it is actively working toward achieving OSHA’s Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) designation. This voluntary initiative recognizes small business employers who operate exemplary safety and health management systems, distinguishing them as models for worksite safety.

To achieve this milestone, Ferroloy is collaborating with the Kansas Department of Labor’s on-site consultation services to identify and eliminate potential workplace hazards. The company’s commitment involves implementing comprehensive written hazard protection programs, conducting frequent job safety assessments, and providing extensive safety training for all employees.

“The health and safety of our employees, contractors, and guests is our number one priority,” said Mark Soucie, President and Owner of Ferroloy, Inc.. “Working toward SHARP certification is a critical part of our long-term success and our goal to foster a proactive safety culture that protects our team while improving overall productivity”.

Achieving SHARP status will grant Ferroloy a two-year exemption from OSHA programmed inspections, allowing the foundry to focus on continuous safety improvements. To qualify, Ferroloy must maintain injury and illness rates (DART and TRC) below the national average for the foundry industry.

This safety initiative follows Ferroloy’s recent modernization efforts, including its Foundry 4.0 journey to digitize operations and increase efficiency through real-time data collection.
